'Anti-Islam film, blessing in disguise'?

Published on Sep 22, 2012 by PressTVGlobalNews : French Muslims have expressed their outrage over the publication of inflammatory cartoons insulting Islam's most revered figure, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The French Muslim Council (CFCM), the main Islamic body in France, on Wednesday accused satirical Parisian weekly Charlie Hebdo of firing up anti-Muslim sentiments at a sensitive time.

The publication of crude caricatures of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) comes amid widespread outrage over a US-made film that insults Islam's holiest figure, and has sparked days of protests in the Arab world, Africa, Asia and some Western countries.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Political Analyst Hanin Salem from London to more elaborate on the issue.

Fatma Nabil becomes first veiled TV anchor in history of Egyptian state television after information minister overturns ban

 

State TV's first TV news anchor Fatma Nabil

A veiled woman, Fatma Nabil, anchored a news programme on Egyptian state television for the first time on Saturday.

Hosni Mubarak's former information minister Safwat El-Sherif, who is currently facing corruption charges, banned veiled anchors from appearing on state TV in 2002. Prior to that time, Egyptian news anchors were unveiled.

The rule change was made under the auspices of new Information Minister Salah Abdel-Maqsoud, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Veiled women Nermine Bitar and Sarah El-Shinnawy were also given permission to appear on state television.

Fatma Nabil has been presenting a show on Masr 25, the Muslim Brotherhood's TV channel, for several months.

PressTV - 23 August 2012 Baku : Thousands of people have poured into the streets in the Azeri capital to commemorate the death of the deputy head of the Islamic Party of Azerbaijan while in custody.

Azeri schoolgirls demand their right to wear hijab

Azeri Muslims in Baku marched on August 22 to the cemetery where Vagif Abdullayev is buried to mark the country’s first "Hijab martyr,” forty days after his death.

Abdullayev was arrested along with other six members of the Islamic Party in January 2011 on charges which many dismissed as aimed to slander and defame the anti-Zionist politician.

His arrest came amid the government’s continued clampdown on Muslim clerics and activists protesting Baku’s ban on Islamic Hijab in schools and demolition of mosques, which has seen the detention of many religious figures on false charges.

In October, he was sentenced to 11 years in prison while his health condition was deteriorating due to his asthma, and eventually died of a heart attack in jail on July 12.

Addressing the mourners, Haji Ilgar Ibrahimoglu, the head of the Center for Protection of Freedom of Conscience and Faith, described the pressure imposed on Muslims in Azerbaijan as part of an Israeli scheme.

He said Azeris’ support for the Palestinian cause and the Lebanese during Israel’s 33-day war against the country in 2006 has raised fears among Tel Aviv’s Zionist leaders and prompted them to attempt to suppress the Islamic sentiments in Azerbaijan.

Novruzov Fuzuli Novruz, another member of Azerbaijani Islamic Party, died of a suspicious heart attack last week in Correctional Facility No.16 of the Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service.

Novruzov had also been jailed on similar charges as those pushed against Abdullayev.

An investigation has been launched in the circumstances surrounding Abdullayev's death. The government and prison officials have so far declined to comment on the issue.

Grace Halsell on Christian Zionist doctrine

Stuart Littlewood looks at how American journalist Grace Halsell exposed the un-Christian wart among Christians, the “Christian Zionist movement”, which believes that it is “perfectly acceptable to give the green light to whatever it is Israel wants and then conceal this from the American people”, and that “anything, including lies, theft, even murder, is justified as long as Israel wants it”.

Not long ago I quoted American journalist Grace Halsell in an article about the damaging influence of the Scofield Bible, not realizing how sorely she was made to suffer for setting out the truth.

That article, “The Zionist cuckoos in Christianity’s nest”, showed how Cyrus Scofield corrupted the Biblical message and produced a propaganda classic that has been working its evil for 100 years.

Israel worship

Scofield, a convicted criminal and described by one American newspaper as “a shyster”, was commissioned to rewrite the King James Bible by inserting Zionist-friendly notes. The idea was to change the Christian view of Zionism by creating and promoting a pro-Zionist sub-culture within Christianity. The Oxford University Press appointed Scofield as editor, and the Scofield Reference Bible was born.

It introduced a new worship icon, the modern state of Israel, which did not exist until 1948 but was already being “prepped” on the drawing board of the world Zionist movement.

It appealed to the impressionable and was seized on by religious chancers who have used inappropriate methods to establish a large and dangerously un-Christian fringe to the Christianity movement. They call themselves Christian Zionists.

Here is how Grace Halsell explained the rehashed Biblical message:

Simply stated, it is this: every act taken by Israel is orchestrated by God, and should be condoned, supported and even praised by the rest of us. Never mind what Israel does, say the Christian Zionists. God wants this to happen…

 

Scofield said that Christ cannot return to earth until certain events occur: The Jews must return to Palestine, gain control of Jerusalem and rebuild a temple, and then we all must engage in the final, great battle called Armageddon. Estimates vary, but most students of Armageddon theology agree that as a result of these relatively recent interpretations of Biblical scripture, 10 to 40 million Americans believe Palestine is God's chosen land for the Jews.

The problem, she said, was the belief system of Christian Zionists. “They believe that what Israel wants is what God wants. Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable to give the green light to whatever it is Israel wants and then conceal this from the American people. Anything, including lies, theft, even murder, is justified as long as Israel wants it.”

Those pseudo-Christians, who would have us all believe that God is some kind of racist real estate agent, thereafter made her life a misery.
